How To Live Up To Your Dreams | 6 Useful Tips

As promised in my previous blog, I’m here with five useful tips on how to live up to your dreams.

I had asked you to comment on my previous blog – Why you should never stop dreaming if you want me to write more about dreams. Though I got only one comment (via email) I did not hold myself back from writing this blog.

Because when you dream about something you’re not allowed to get affected by the size of your audience or spectators. You ought to keep doing what you’re set to do.

So on this opening note let’s dive into a few useful tips to know how to live up to your dreams and not give up.

1. Write down your dreams/dream

You can have more than one dream. So henceforth, I’ll be saying ‘dreams’ rather than a dream.

It’s important to think on paper. When you write down your dreams or goals for that matter, the words on the paper come up with more prominence and help you to stay hooked up to your dreams.

Write down your dreams in a notebook along with the small goals or the baby steps you need to take to achieve your dreams.

This activity will enhance your ability to dream more passionately and will discipline you in life.

2. Remember the purpose of your dream

I think in every alternate blog of mine I say this – have a purpose to your life. Life without a purpose is like why-are-you-even-alive life.

One fine day when you dream of something don’t get overwhelmed with the idea. Rather find out why you want to be there. What’s the purpose of your dream.

Your purpose will keep pushing you harder towards achieving your dreams. Once you have that in life, you’ll know how to live up to your dreams.

3. Make a note of the small achievements

It’s important to appreciate the small successes of life. These tiny achievements take you to the bigger picture of your life.

Do not underestimate the small achievements that you find in the path of your dreams. Embrace them and make a note of each one with great pride.

Come back and read them when you achieve your dreams. They shall keep you grounded when you’re at the peak of your careers or dreams.

4. Remember why you started

You do not wake up one day and say “Okay, today onwards I’ll be dreaming of becoming a pilot”

That’ll be bizarre. You should know why your dream is your dream in the first place. And you ought to remember that reason whilst you’re striving hard to achieve it.

This will keep you going on the path that you’ve chosen for the rest of your life.

5. Be someone’s inspiration (bonus tip)

This one is a bonus tip for you. Work hard to accomplish your dreams. Do that with much conviction and you’ll automatically be an inspiration.

Once you start inspiring people, positive energy surrounds you and that plays its magic by making you an expert in whatever you’ve chosen to take up like a dream.

You feel energetic and pumped up to work harder every day. I’ve experienced this myself. Whenever I write a blog and receive emails or comments I get those positive vibes from you that keeps me hooked up to my blogging dream.

6. See yourself there

Last but not the least, visualise yourself where you want to see yourself one day. I believe that what we want and wish for, life gives us exactly the same.

This may seem like a dialogue from an SRK movie but it certainly holds significance. You need to practise it to believe it.
