The One With Deep Conversations Over Books | Day 20

The-One-With-Deep-Conversation-Over-Books

If you’re new to this blog, let me tell you that I’m on a Blog Marathon ( i.e. I’ll be writing a new post every day for 30 days ) and today is the 20th day.

I finalize the topic for the blog in the morning on the same day. Today morning I had decided to write on something different and informative but I changed my decision in the afternoon.

Yes, you guessed it right. Something positive happened in the afternoon that made me change my decision and I want to share it with you, as I always do.

While I was going through stories on Instagram I happened to see a book that I’ve been reading for around five months now. And I don’t wish to finish it so soon.

I’m scared as finishing it may create a big void in my life.

The book is “Men are from Mars. Women are from Venus” by John Gray. As soon as I saw the book cover I was too enthusiastic to discuss the book with that person that I did not see who he was.

I straight away typed, “I love this book and I’m happy reading it in bits and pieces” and shut my phone’s screen.

After a few minutes, I received a message from the same person saying, “That’s epic. Your guy would be happy and lucky” ( he said this because the book talks about men, women and relationships and feeds us with the mind-blowing insights ).

I was taken aback to see who he was. He was the person I’ve always looked upon since my Diploma years. In fact, his entire batch had a positive and energetic aura around them.

He was two years senior to me in my Diploma college. I was in complete awe of his interpersonal skills back then and continue watching his videos on Instagram till date.

In college, I was too timid to initiate a conversation with him or compliment him for the speeches he delivered on various occasions. I chose to be a silent observer.

Today, after so many years, the ice was broken as I coincidentally messaged this guy who was always an inspiration to me.

And the reason being – “books”.

The moment we got connected over this book, we naturally slipped into a deep conversation discussing books and the philosophy of life.

As he got to know that I’m reading the same book and loving it he promptly replied, “This is awesome, now if I find something interesting, or fascinating I know now who to discuss it with…”

I was more than happy to do that as I yearn to talk about books with someone. As I had once told you that whenever I feel like sharing something I share it with you, my dear readers.

And as he rightly said, “That’s why I love social media it’s Pros are it helps you to find your tribe, expand your circle”.

He’s been working on his development for the past three years and all these have been nothing but amazing for him. Likewise, since I started reading and working on my overall growth the year has been nothing but amazing.

As he says, once you start reading books it feels super connected with yourself due to which you empathize more with others.

Damn! This is awe-inspiring.

I always felt books make us humble.

And now I also believe that books connect us to like-minded people and are the reason for deep conversations.

At 3 pm IST, when our conversation slowly got personal I admitted to him that I had sacrificed my Sunday afternoon nap that I’m fond of.

While it was night there in the US, he shared his story of how we got into this conversation that turned out to be so beautiful and deep.

He was not able to sleep due to jetlag and that’s how he was awake late in the night and ended up discussing books with me.

He said, “I am just in awe of such coincidences” and the same is true for me otherwise I wouldn’t have been writing a blog on this stunning conversation.

I wonder how every book lover thinks alike.

Well, that’s the greatness of books. They make us human in the true sense.

So, now you know my Sunday was beautiful. I hope you too had a good one.

Have you had such deep conversations on books and life with someone, maybe a stranger or your senior? If yes, do comment below, I would love to know your experiences.

Till then — stay happy and keep reading books ๐Ÿ™‚

See you with another post tomorrow.

Love
Shradz

P.S. Men are from Mars. Women are from Venus is a book that have prevented divorces. So if you’re in a relationship or would be entering one, this is a must read book for you. But there’s one condition – both men and women need to read this for a ‘forever happy’ relationship.

  1. It was a free lecture. Our electives proffessor was absent and the class had turned into a riot.
Amidst all this, my friend and i were sitting engrossed in our phones….when suddenly she asked me….”so…which has been your all time favourite book?”
It started with that note and i still dont remember how it ended or how long it was….but we grew more closer to each other that day.
